As the opening of our seventh season, MMMM Composers in Concert marks their first event featuring a full choir - the 'She Sings!' Women's Choir of Kingston in their first-ever Stratford engagement. Rhyme, Rhythm and Song is an evening of new works by local composers along with classic show tunes and gospel standards.

'She Sings!' is a small auditioned women's choir based in Kingston, Ontario, dedicated to supporting new works, performing varied styles and highlighting guest artists and living composers. Under the direction of noted composer Martha Hill Duncan since 2004, highlights in their first five years included two trips to New York City to perform with Dr. Virginia Davidson and The New York Treble Singers and the release of their first CD, Songs are Thoughts. A second CD, Lady Icicle, was released in 2014. For more information, please visit http://www.shesings.ca/.

Rhyme, Rhythm and Song will feature premieres of new choral works in a variety of styles by Stratford composers Marco Burak, Michelle Wells and Doug Peterman, as well as Micheal Dobinson of Brampton and Michel Allard of Kitchener. Music by Martha Hill Duncan will also be featured, as well as a selection of classic, up-tempo musical theatre and gospel numbers, such as “The Rhythm of Life” from Sweet Charity and “Joyful, Joyful” from the movie Sister Act II.
